I remember it like it was yesterday.
I was sitting in my psychiatrist’s office, still tender from self-injuring just hours before. His words tore through me like a lightning bolt – “Anysia, you have to come to grips with reality. No one recovers from what you’ve been through. Whatever you were born to be, you will never be. You will spend the rest of your life on medication and at least half of the rest of your life in a mental hospital. You need to accept that. You can manage your symptoms, but you will never recover; it’s impossible.“
In that moment, I believed him. I despaired of all hope. I was floundering. Lost. Alone in a storm, I saw no way through. Impossible. The weight of that word wrapped itself around me and dragged me under. It was suffocating.
But God had a different perspective!
Less than 3 weeks later, I was healed of Dissociative Identity Disorder (DID) and on my way to Florida to finish Bible School.
In the years since then, God has healed me of Posttraumatic Stress Disorder, depression, suicidal ideation, and self-injury, while also bringing healing and restoration to my body, helping me navigate symptoms of Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, back issues, Fibromyalgia, and Sensory Processing Disorder. In 2021, when I nearly died of respiratory failure from COVID and spent almost a month in the hospital, only to come out and face the onslaught of symptoms that accompany Long COVID, God encouraged my heart and walked me through. He walks with me still.
While the journey is ongoing, I no longer label anything “impossible”, and I know beyond any shadow of a doubt that I will be everything He created me to be. I am His, and that truth has set me free in ways the world cannot begin to grasp.
My life is a testament to His power, goodness, kindness, and unfailing love. It has been and continues to be a journey of breakthrough, transformation, and freedom, anchoring me in the Truth that I am His and He alone defines me.
No matter what you’ve been told, THIS is the Truth –
Nothing is impossible WITH GOD!
You don’t have to flounder on your journey of faith.
You don’t have to be leery of love, joy, hope, and peace.
You don’t have to strive to discover your identity and purpose, or sit on the sidelines of your story.
You don’t have to go through life anchored to your past, to guilt and shame, or patterns and stories that do not bring life, truth, or freedom.
You don’t have to travel alone.
I invite you to let my unfolding story embolden you to believe that with God, all things really are possible. Let it move you to step out in faith in the face of fear, and encourage you to discover the dream of God’s heart for you! Let my testimony and journey empower you to partner with God to Establish Truth, Restore Hope, and Embrace Freedom in your own life.
